Oddities at Encanto del Mar

The Encanto del Mar property, located a half mile south of the Trump Baja develop-ment, is marked by a simple sign and a phone number, just off the southbound lane of the toll road.
Next door to the plush Real Mediterranean project, the tiny En-canto del Mar deve-lopment looks like a quaint, almost exclu-sive place to buy beachfront property. The simple sign, which only has a Ca-lifornia phone number painted on it, sug-gests that the pro-
perty might be bar-gain priced as well. But, homeowners are concerned about a number of oddities about the develop- ment, including an obscene statue, jun-ked equipment, and a sewage disposal sys-tem that is best des-
cribed as "primitive".
The Encanto del Mar development is own-ed by the Lange Cor-poration, based in California. On the one main street that runs through the small de-velopment, a single pipe connects a se-ries of concrete re-
ceptacles which co-llect the waste and fecal matter coming from the homes. These receptacles have lids, and while most are covered, one was left open. When construction workers nearby be-gan complained of becoming sick and nauseous from the fumes rising from the tank, someone came and put a cover on it. A homeowner near this same tank is now complaining of odors coming into his home
